About
Meet Ujjawal, the Prague-based photographer and filmmaker who has been working with us since 2025. He studied film in the Czech Republic and began his career in the film industry, working as a director, assistant director, sound mixer, and production manager. Ujjawal has credits on a number of Czech features, including Zlatovláska, Shooting Star, and Princezna stokrát jinak.
These days, he’s our go-to person for documenting Czech toll roads, motorways, border crossings, and vignette sales points for Czechvignette.cz. Every photo and video you see on this site? That’s his work.
On the Road
So far, Ujjawal has completed three dedicated road trips for us, covering more than 1,000 kilometres of roads. He’s documented the D6 and D7 motorways, the westbound route, and industrial North.
Ujjawal teams up with Jiri Pech on these trips. Jiri handles the driving, which means Ujjawal can focus on filming, photographing, and jumping out whenever he spots something worth capturing.
We asked him what surprised him most on these trips. After all, he sees parts of the Czech Republic that most visitors never get to. His answer? Even in small countryside towns where locals don’t often meet a foreigner, he is always welcomed warmly—more like a guest than a stranger.
Ujjawal has more trips planned for February and March this year, with another round in summer.

His Work
All of the photos and videos on Czechvignette.cz are taken by Ujjawal. That’s around 400 high-quality images so far, plus all our video content. He captures everything from vending machine tutorials and motorway footage to border crossings and petrol stations. And he shoots and edits every image himself!

Originally from India and now based in Prague, Ujjawal has travelled extensively across Europe, including Italy, Denmark, Poland, Slovakia, and Germany.
